This home had the typical open wood deck that was well maintained [without a doubt, knowing the homeowner] but was getting a little tired and probably didn’t get as much use as the homeowners would have liked.
“Packey A’Hearn [Acorn Custom Builders] was the general contractor for our back porch/veranda addition in 2005. The project was more than the traditional porch as we went crazy with an 850 sq ft covered design with double gazebos with very traditional columns. Our concept was for an open air Mediterranean feel with a lot of detail and Packey came through on the finish detail beyond our wildest expectations.”
Brick paving wrapped around the house with a sidewalk to the front driveway.
Heavy cedar beams support the covered area between the gazebos.
“Packey’s attention to detail is beyond compare. We would recommend him to anyone for any home renovation without question.”

The double gazebo addition was added to expand the living space. The roof is a key factor in making a comfortable extended space, rain or shine.
Douglas fir beaded ceiling and cedar beams
All cedar inside – this is the larger of the two gazebos with an 18’ 6” diameter.
The smaller gazebo has a 14’ diameter. With a project like this all the rough carpentry is also finish carpentry since it is all exposed.
